BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF THE REVEREND EARLE H. IFILL, M.Div; D.Min

The Reverend Earle H. Ifill was born in Barbados, West Indies where he received his early education. He is a graduate of Wilberforce University, Wilberforce, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree (Cum Laude) in Business Administration. He graduated from Boston University School of Theology, Boston Massachusetts with a Master of Divinity (M. Div.) degree; and is a recipient of an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Jackson Theological Seminary, Little Rock, Arkansas.

He served as an assistant Pastor in Springfield and Cambridge, Massachusetts. Pastored churches in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Tifton, Waycross and Atlanta, Georgia. He served as the Presiding Elder of the Atlanta District from 1994-1997 and presently serves
as the Presiding Elder of the Atlanta East District of the Atlanta North-Georgia Annual Conference.

The Reverend Earle Ifill is a member of the Atlanta North-Georgia Annual Conference of the Sixth Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He is an elected Delegate to the Forty-Ninth (49th) Session of the General Conference and will serve as Chairperson of the Georgia delegation. He serves as secretary of the General Conference Commission and Vice President of the Connectional Presiding Elders Council. He served as a member of the Revision Committee; the Compilation Committee; workshop leader and lecturer at the Lay Organization Biennial Conventions and the Department of Salary Supplement Stewardship Conferences.

He is a Life Member of the Wilberforce University Alumni Association. He serves on the Public Relations Committee and is a member of the Constitution Committee. He is a member of the President’s Club; and was an elected member of the Wilberforce University Alumni Association Board of Directors serving as Chaplain. He is the recipient of the 2008 Distinguished Service Award and a member of the Alumni Hall of Fame. He is a member of the Atlanta Alumni Chapter.

He is a past President of the A.M.E. Ministers Union of Atlanta and Vicinity; a member of the Barbados Association of Atlanta and Vicinity; a member of the National Association for The Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and Concerned Black Clergy (CBC) of Atlanta.
